What is Home Health?

Home Health care is skilled nursing care and therapy services that one can receive in the privacy and comfort of their own home. Home Health can be utilized for both short and long term conditions, such as after hospitalizations, treatment of acute and chronic conditions, or permanent disability.

When is Home Health Appropriate?

Generally, patients qualify for Home Health care if they:

• Have a medical condition that requires skilled treatment by a nurse or therapist.

• Are under the care of a physician who certifies the need for Home Health.

• Require skilled care to regain their independence in the home environment.

• Require considerable assistance when leaving their home and are considered homebound.

Who pays for Home Health Care?

Patients can qualify through a variety of health plans, which include Medicare, Medicaid and most Private Insurances.
